Terms of Service

SECTION 1: DESCRIPTION OF ORGANISATION, RELEVANT TRADEMARKS & PATENTS:

RoamTrip Ltd (under the ownership of Karl Baran Leon Green) holds ownership over the social media platform "RoamTrip". In addition to this, and as a result of this, it also holds the trademark to the name "RoamTrip", as well as it's logo. Commercial use of the name and logo outside of the relevant service (RoamTrip) is restricted, and may only be used with consent from RoamTrip Ltd (excluding cases in relation to fair use, such as YouTube videos with references or descriptions of the service).

SUB-SECTION 1: CHANGES

With approval from the owner of RoamTrip, or a majority of directors, the terms of service can be changed with immediate effect. It is up to the user to ensure they are following the terms of service.

SUB-SECTION 2:

RoamTrip operates in connection to Stripe in order to handle payments for advertisements and bookings. RoamTrip itself doesn't store any bank account information on its servers, but Stripe may if the user decides to list or book a property. RoamTrip also operates in connection to Google Analytics. This is to ensure that RoamTrip's owner and directors can more effectively operate RoamTrip Ltd (as a corporation) as well as RoamTrip (as a website and app). The user will be notified in regards to data collection when they first open the website. If the user decides to continue using RoamTrip after receiving this notification, they will be agreeing to basic data collection in regards to analytics. SECTION 2: DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:

RoamTrip (a product of RoamTrip Ltd) is a social media platform, existing as both a website and (soon-to-be) a mobile application. It allows people to share their travel experiences, in addition to rating different places and booking flights and accommodation. In addition, it allows people to connect with likeminded people (after submitting a valid form of identification for verification purposes), and plan trips together. Posts that don't relate to travel are allowed, however they must not break the terms of use, and travel-related posts will be given priority by RoamTrip's algorithm.

As these may be referred to in the document, the features of RoamTrip will be listed below.

Features:

Connect: This feature will allow users to connect with likeminded people and plan trips together. This will be done by gathering and comparing the interests and filters of users from the relevant database table, in order to match compatible people together in a group chat. This feature will be restricted to users who are at least 18 years old, as this feature may involve people meeting each other in real life.

Profile: This feature will allow users to describe themselves and show their individual posts, all on one page. This will include their username, real name (if the user chooses to show this through RoamTrip's profile settings), profile picture and bio. The user will also be able to show the amount of followers or accounts they're following. It will also be up to the user whether they want to have a public profile page, or a private profile page (in which case posts will only show up to followers, and follow requests must be approved by the account's owner in order for specific users to follow).

Messages: This feature will allow users to send direct messages to other users. In addition, users will be able to start group chats with other users either using the 'connect' feature, or with specific users through invitation.

Booking: Here, users will be able to book flights, accommodation and other venues. In addition, they will be able to post their properties on the booking page for other users to see and book. There will be no fee for property owners for doing this, except for a 1% cut of any profits made from the booking service.

SECTION 3: USAGE REQUIREMENTS:

To use the service, the user must be at least 18 years old, taking into consideration that a mainly travel-based social media platform may not be safe at all times for minors to use. In addition, the "connect" feature will only be available to users who are at least 18 years old.

In addition, by using RoamTrip the user is agreeing to abide by both the rules set by the platform, as well as legislation implemented within countries and regions RoamTrip as a platform operates in, such as the United Kingdom, European Union and United States. If a user breaks any of the following rules, their account may be suspended or terminated depending on the severity of the offending act, and RoamTrip will comply with relevant authorities to ensure that justice is carried out against the offending user in cases where they have violated a law.

The list of what is forbidden on RoamTrip is as follows:

The promotion or advertisement of illegal or restricted items, such as firearms and illegal drugs.

Extreme gore or violence potentially barring that of fiction, such as films and video games (will be considered on a case-by-case basis in such circumstances and in compliance with relevant legislation).

Sexual content of any kind, especially involving minors.

Scams and fraudulent activity.

Fake engagement, such as the usage of bot accounts to artificially increase the amount of attention a user is paid by the algorithm.

Highly offensive language, such as the use of racial slurs.

Hate speech or hateful conduct.

Harassment, including activities such as cyberbullying and stalking.

The promotion of criminal organisations and terrorist organisations.

The promotion of misinformation, including political and medical misinformation.

Content that promotes self-harm, suicide or other mental health-related disorders.

If a user is found to be in violation of any of these rules, their account may be suspended/terminated, and RoamTrip will send relevant data in relation to the violation to authorities if any laws are broken. In cases where a law isn't broken, or in cases where authorities don't require the continued storage of data in relation to criminal activity, the violating data will be removed from the platform's database.

SECTION 4: HOW USER DATA IS STORED AND USED:

RoamTrip may store and use the data of users in cases such as statistics and advertising. If personalised advertising is on (this can be changed in settings), advertisers will only be able to show personalised advertising by promoting their product or service with specific interests selected, that reflect the selected interests of the user on the platform. Offsite data will not be used by the service, and onsite data won't be provided offsite in any circumstance unless it relates to criminal activity and the data is being collected by authorities.

Data and settings set by the user, such as their account details and whether they want to show their real name will be up to them. If a user chooses to reveal any personal data on the platform, they will be liable for that instead of RoamTrip. If a user chooses to reveal the personal data of another person without consent, the offending user will be liable and while RoamTrip will do everything it can to remove the personal data in question, it won't be held liable for the actions of the offending user.
